Introduction to Nature Journaling - 2 Hours

Join scientist and illustrator Dr. Cody Markelz for a two-hour nature journal session exploring the beautiful natural areas in Siskiyou county. Each session will start with a natural history overview of the Sacramento River watershed at this unique junction between the Southern Cascade Mountains and the Klamath Mountains. Participants will then receive instruction on nature journaling techniques and practices. By the end of the session, participants will complete a nature journal page on some aspect of the natural world they find most compelling.

A few example topics to build pages around include mountain ranges, rivers, waterfalls, trees, wildflowers, mosses, animals, geology, and natural cycles.
